There’s a lot you can do

Many of your local creeks and rivers are overrun with weeds.

Riparian areas, or those areas alongside rivers, creeks and streams, are often the worst affected by weed infestation.

Revegetating riparian areas not only helps our native flora and fauna, but can also;

  • Provide shelter for stock and crops
  • Prevent erosion
  • Control runoff
  • Help manage salinity and waterlogging

This is why we are forming a community-based team of friendly locals who want to improve these catchment areas.

How to get involved with the new Landcare group

Introduce yourself by calling the Upper Hunter Local Landcare Coordinator, Nicholas Alexander, on 02 6549 3708.
