Featuring sculptural works from the Max Watters Collection, In the Round includes four pieces by Aleks Danko, one of the principal artists of the neo Dadaist movement in Australian art in the early 1970’s. Two of these works were recently loaned to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney and the Heide Museum of Modern Art in Victoria for the Aleks Danko survey exhibition Aleks Danko: MY FELLOW AUS-TRA-ALIENS; ? (BOX) – I really, DON’T know WHAT to say and CHROMIUM MAY both made by Danko in 1971. In the Round presents 4 on opportunity to see these two works in conjunction with the two further Danko pieces collected by Max Watters and in the broader context of a larger selection of sculptures from the Max Watters Collection.
