12 June - 24 July 2016
Suburbs to the Sea, the latest exhibition by Charlotte Drake-Brockman and Fran Wachtel grew from an observation by the pair in the similarity of shape between an ironing board and a surf board. Apart from the ironing board their materials have come from anything metal they could retrieve from a wheelie bin.
Charlotte and Fran are long time collaborators from Murrurundi in the Upper Hunter Region. Out of their partnership they have created a singular vision. From the rawest of raw materials, jagged rusty tin and old cans they fashion a world of playful works full of whimsy and magic.
Exhibiting from 12 June to 24 July 2016. Opening night 6pm Saturday, 11 June 2016 with refreshments courtesy of Two Rivers Wines, Hunter Belle Cheese and Pukara Estate.
