Exhibiting 01 August - 13 September 2015

Winner of the 24th Muswellbrook Photographic Award in 2014 with his work Man Taking Photograph, Edward Gillan returns to the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre to present the series from which the winning work was drawn.

Taken over a short period of time in January 2014 at Echo Point in the Blue Mountains Edward’s work provides a strong narrative, capturing human behaviour - tourists lost in the mist and the rain, cameras in hand.

Adjudicator of the 24th Muswellbrook Photographic Award, Anne Loxley, Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, in describing Edward’s work said that it raises more questions about our relationship to photography than it answers, that it makes you think about why and when we take photographs and how they affect our perception of the world.

Exhibiting from 1 August to 13 September 2015. Opening night 6pm Friday, 31 July 2015 with refreshments courtesy of Two Rivers Hunter Valley Wines, Pukara Estate, Hunter Belle Cheese and Artiste Espresso Bar.
