As a finalist earlier this year in the Muswellbrook Photographic Award, Canberra based photographer Mark Mohell’s extraordinary black and white photographs captured the imagination of the public and this led the Arts Centre to ask Mark to bring his sometimes stark but always stunning images of the designed and controlled suburbs of Australia’s most planned city Canberra to Muswellbrook for this exhibition.

Mark is intent on focusing our attention on “the constructed, urban landscape and the ease with which we walk away and let things fall apart. How we create our society and shape the environment to our desires, but gradually forget its significance”.
