On 8th March 2014 Upper Hunter artists and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service staff gathered at the Burning Mountain Nature Reserve to celebrate Parks Week by capturing the reserve’s unique and striking landscape. Participants on the day were guided by artists from the Muswellbrook Ceramics Group Inc. (The Pot House), photographer Roger Skinner and NPWS Discovery Ranger and Aboriginal artist Gary Luke, in photographing the surroundings and working with ink on paper to illustrate this site of great spiritual significance to its traditional owners, the Wanaruah people.

From Tears of Fire, continues the celebration with an exhibition of artworks inspired by the Burning Mountain Nature Reserve. The diversity of works generated from the Parks Week Celebration and exhibited in From Tears of Fire serve well to demonstrate the diversity that is seen in the extraordinary Burning Mountain Nature Reserve.

Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre in collaboration with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service are pleased to present From Tears of Fire: Burning Mountain Nature Reserve, 8 March 2014.
