Healthy Swimming

Swimming is a healthy, low-impact activity that has many physical and mental health benefits.

Swimming is accessible to people of all ages and provides great cardiovascular workouts as well as a workout for the whole body including arms, back and shoulder.

Swimming can assist people with asthma; however, before you start strenuous pool activities, you should seek some advice from your doctor.

There are a few different guidelines and opinions on when children should learn to swim: the AusSwim Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) recommends that infants can start a formal program at six months of age. Parents will have to be prepared to jump in the pool too, so ask one of our staff how this works.

Kids with special needs can swim too in a fun and non-competitive environment while learning vital water survival skills.
