Miniatures XVII - Inviting submissions from all Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter Artists

Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre has been featuring an exhibition of miniature artworks for many years. A wide range of mediums and subject matters, by an increasing selection of invited artists from the region are displayed. This is your opportunity to be included in this the 2016 exhibition - which will be on display between 27 February and 17 April 2016.

What is a miniature?

A miniature, as determined by the Australian Society of Miniature Art, is a two-dimensional work where the perimeter of the actual artwork must not exceed 40cm (e.g. 10 x 10cm) or any variation of this size (e.g. 12 x 8cm). A three-dimensional work must not exceed a perimeter of 40cm on any face of the work.

The ‘spirit of miniaturisation’ must always be maintained. In portraiture, depiction of the human head shall be no larger than 3.8cm from chin to crown (Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) 2013).
