Australia Day Awards Recipients 2021

Muswellbrook Shire Council held its annual Australia Day Awards ceremony on Monday, January 25 at Denman Memorial Hall. 2021 award recipients are:

The Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a significant contribution to the community and an inspirational role model who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the welfare and well-being of others and the award goes to a proud member of the Denman community who has volunteered many hours to numerous community groups, but most of all to Merton Living: DAVID ROE

The Young Citizen of the Year Award recognizes an inspirational role model for other young Australians in our region who has shown achievements in community activities, academic, sporting, cultural, environmental or social responsibility and goes to a talented young sportsman who excels at rugby and cricket, is a qualified junior rugby league referee, and, most especially for his services to Mangoola Junior Rural Fire Brigade: HUNTER BALL

The Muswellbrook Shire Council Australia Day Awards recognises a group or individual who are a role model for others in our region.
The recipients of the Muswellbrook Shire Council Australia Day Awards are:

For services to the wine and tourism industries - BRETT AND LINDA KEEPING

For services to local health - WENDY HORDERN

Muswellbrook Shire Council Commendation Awards recognise a group or individual who have made a significant effort to further the wellbeing of others in the community.

The recipients of the Muswellbrook Shire Council Commendation Awards are:

A selfless young lady who, during 2020, supported her school breakfast club by donating goods and her own pocket money - JACINDA DEVER

And a group who have been supporting and volunteering in the community for 36 years – THE MUSWELLBROOK LIONESS CLUB
