Whilst 2020 has been a year of unprecedented circumstances Muswellbrook Shire Council still intends to honour outstanding members of the community with Australia Day Awards and is calling for nominations now.

The Australia Day Awards are open to community members who are Australian citizens and who have made a noteworthy contribution or outstanding achievement in work, studies or community service this year or over several years.

Nominating community members for their achievements and contributions to the community is a simple way to say thanks and acknowledge generous inspiring people.

Award categories for 2020 are Citizen of the Year (open to people 25 years or older as at 26 January 2020)
Young Citizen of the Year (open to people 25 years or younger as at 26 January 2020)
Open (open to everyone).

Nominees in all categories will have made a significant contribution to the community, be an inspirational role model, demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the welfare and wellbeing of the community and had a positive impact on the Muswellbrook community.

Nomination forms are available at Council’s Administration Centre, Campbell’s Corner or online at www.muswellbrook.nsw.gov.au

Nominations are now open and close on Sunday, December 6.

The awards will be presented at an Australia Day Awards ceremony on Monday, 25 January 2021 at the Denman Memorial Hall at an invitation only event.
