CAFÉ/BAR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Muswellbrook Shire Council is seeking a skilled, motivated and experienced hospitality professional to complement the newly rebuilt Denman Memorial Hall through the operation of a café/bar and complementary events.

The new design of the Hall allows the successful operator the versatility to cater for numerous activities, from a wine bar to function centre or a theatre or cinema.

The township of Denman is located in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from Newcastle and 2 ½ hours from Sydney. The town is increasingly developing as a tourist destination and is popular for fine wine, good food and heritage charm.

The Denman Memorial Hall café facility includes a fully equipped kitchen with the capability to be upgraded to a commercial standard. The Hall comprises 232m2 of internal floor space with retractable seating for 142 and would accommodate approximately 100 people banquet style. The courtyard/bar area has been fitted with remote controlled louvers to create a sense of alfresco dining.

The café/bar lease agreement will be held with Muswellbrook Shire Council. Proposed commercial terms include:

Annual Lease Amount:        $55,000 + GST + Outgoings

Annual increase:                   3%

Lease Term:                          5 years

We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from individuals or businesses looking for opportunities to enhance their experience in the hospitality industry by running a high quality venue, showcasing local produce where possible.

It is an expectation that the successful candidate will work closely with Muswellbrook Shire Council and local community groups to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.

EOIs outlining your vision for the Hall, your experience in the hospitality industry, evidence of capability/references (including personal references and references as to financial capacity) and an understanding of management issues relating to running a food venue, should be mailed to reach us by close of business by 5.00pm on Friday 7th February 2020
