Smoke free environment
Smoking is the largest single preventable cause of death in Australia with substantial evidence linking exposure to second hand smoke with a range of serious and life threatening health impacts. Children are known to be at higher risk.
It is also known cigarette butts are a major litter item on roads and public areas where people may congregate.
In the interest of public health Muswellbrook Shire Council provides resources to help you promote smoke free areas.
Council's aim is to increase public awareness to the dangers of second hand smoke and provide foundation for any future adoption of policy by Council for smoke free areas.
